Tech Adventure Camp
2020 Tech Adventure Camp has added a New LEGO ® Robotics Rotation & 3D Printer in the Tinkering/Makers Rotation!
Each 2-Week session will have new curriculum and projects for new and returning campers
Campers will have opportunities to explore and create through S.T.E.A.M Experiments, Coding: Video Game & Animation Programming using Code.org & Bloxel, LEGO ® Robotics using WeDo 2.0 and Boost Creative Toolbox, Tinkering/Makers with the 3D Printer and Team Building Outdoor Games. This Camp offers a variety of tech-related activities that encourages campers to design, build, and problem-solve while collaborating in small learning groups.
Campers will divide by age groups and these smaller groups will rotate through five stations, S.T.E.A.M, Coding, LEGO ® Robotics, Tinkering/Makers, and Team Building Games.
S.T.E.A.M campers will explore with hands-on science experiments and create unique inventions and concoctions while using everyday household items through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
Coding campers will learn to code as a stepping-stone to think like a coder! During the two-week camp session, campers will learn art & design, data analysis, science & math skills, engineering, and information technology, skills important for your child’s future endeavors.
Campers will create computer programs allowing them to collaborate, develop problem-solving skills, and persist through difficult tasks. By the end of camp, younger children will create their very own custom game or story to share and older children will use their advanced skills to solve an interactive and competitive story plot.
LEGO ® Robotics campers will partner up for the ultimate LEGO ® challenges. Campers will work together to build several projects that are designed to introduce campers to STEAM concepts while improving collaboration, communication and problem solving skills.
Robotic Projects Include: Science Rover using motion and tilt sensors, Pull-Robot, Race Car, Earthquake Simulator, Rescue Helicopter, Sorting Truck, and Interactive Robots & Electric Guitar
Tinkering & Makers campers will build projects with recycled materials! There will be time for group projects and individual creations! Campers will have the opportunity to use the new 3D Printer!
Team Building campers will play games based on the Tribes Learning Centers books and materials. The Tribes TLC® process is the way to do it. Students achieve because they:
