CURRICULUM THEME
"LEARNING FROM YOUR PEERS & RESPONSIBILITY"
• Getting Feedback from the Middle School Youth about what they would like to have in their after school program, types of Games, Sports, Art, etc.
• Being responsible and accountable 
• Homework with a focus on time management

COOKING CLUB
• Ralston students have shown a increased interest of different cultural cooking dishes and recipes during our cooking club

​AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
• Ralston students have been engaged in a variety of Tournament team games (Examples: Dodgeball and Capture the Flag)

SPECIALIST HIGHLIGHTS
Coach Adrian continues to come to RAMS every Friday afternoon. He leads team building games such as “Give and Go” that teaches skills to catch, throw, and working with other different people. Later this month, he will organize a sports tournament that will be competitive and fun. 

Our Yoga teacher, Georgia, continues to encourage the Ralston students to take some time for wellness and mindfulness on Wednesdays from 1:30PM-2:00PM.  

TEACHER LUNCHEON
On Wednesday, Oct 23, Footsteps@Ralston,along with the 6th & 7th grades, hosted a teachers luncheon to show our appreciation to the Ralston Middle School faculty and staff. Some of the Ralston students shared how long they have been enrolled in our Footsteps programs and their experiences at Footsteps@Ralston.
MINIMUM DAYS
Ralston Middle School continues the Minimum day schedule for Parent/Teacher Conferences. Last day is Friday, November 1

​FOOTSTEPS INTERACT CLUB (5TH-8TH GRADE)
Organizing a Toy Drive for the CALTRAIN Holiday Train 2019
We are asking for donations of New unwrapped toys and books
 for infant-teenagers to be donated by Wed, Dec 4. The Interact Club members will go the Holiday Train celebration on Sunday, Dec 8 at the Downtown San Mateo train station.
STAFF ACHIEVEMENT
Four Footsteps Directors participated in a 3-day Trainer of the Trainer event.  The group will work towards becoming certified CalSAC Trainers, part of state-wide group of trainers, funded through the California Department of Education.
Footsteps is part of a Mental Health Wellness Collaborative, funded by the Sand Hill Foundation, and led by the California School Age Consortium (CalSAC).  The group will train out of school time staff throughout California with a focus on the Mental Health Wellness of children and youth.

SITE COUNCIL RECRUITMENT
We are working on recruiting Site Council members. Please speak to JR to learn more about the roles and responsibilities as a Site Council Member. We would love see have parents new to our Footsteps organization volunteer as a Site Council Member!
