INFANT/TODDLER ROOM The trees are bare and winter is here and our warm autumn days have turned in to skies of grey. Good bye fall the class had a ball! The warm colored art projects and leaf crunching adventures were so much fun. December is all about Winter Around The World. We will explore traditions and holidays from different cultures near and far, listen to traditional music, create some frosty art projects and recreate traditional meals from different cultures. The classroom welcomes our families to bring in winter books, clothing, art projects, and recipes your family enjoys during the wintertime. We would also like to congratulate and say see you later to our toddler friends who have or are moving onto the Preschool class and welcome our new family’s to our wonderful class!
PRESCHOOL ROOM Wow how this year just flew by, December our theme is Holidays Around the World. We will learn how different cultures celebrate their special holiday, from decorations to special foods different cultures eat on their holiday. We will build and decorate a gingerbread house. Teachers from all of the classrooms will share foods from different cultures with us so we have the chance to try them!
PRE-K ROOM We will focus on different aspects of Wintertime, including holidays celebrated around the world, foods from different cultures, and animals that come out in the winter. PreK will focus on the letters Q, G, and S. Teachers from all of the classrooms will share foods from different cultures with us so we have the chance to try them! Teacher Bob will head to the library to share special books about this time of year with us.

STAFF HIGHLIGHTS
All teachers have continuously worked with all students on PDA’s (Positive Descriptive Acknowledgement); teachers will point out (narrate aloud) children’s successful moments individually and/or to the group. We have started to write up the PDA’s and we transcribe the PDA onto note cards and post them in the classroom.
Simultaneously, we will phrase acknowledgement of the actions in connection to our rules or life skills being demonstrated. Our three main rules being practices with the children are, “We are Safe,” “We are Respectful,” and “We are Friendly.” Help us by implementing similar rules at home when possible.
RAISING A READER (RAR) Have been suspended until January 2020. We will begin sending them back out on January 7. During this time, we will look through the book bags and check to make sure they have all of the correct things inside. To keep bags from going missing while many leave on vacations, we will hold on to them at this time.
