GARDEN CLEAN UP DAY Last month, Footsteps@Cipriani hosted garden clean up with Disneyland tickets as a raffle prize for the volunteers who participated. As you can see from the pictures below, it was a very successful event! Footsteps Admin Office recently wrote a grant with the support of the PTA and Cipriani School for a teaching garden, which would include curriculum for nutritional education and environmental stewardship. The school will partner with Footsteps in the creation and maintenance of the Teaching Garden. We are all hopeful of receiving this financial award from the Teaching Gardens Network. We are currently implementing a garden curriculum for each grade level. Children have been busy recharging the raised beds with soil, mulching paths and planting radishes. This week we ordered earthworms and handed out winter seeds including squash, red cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli. Each grade level has a garden plot to plant.
