We will start the New Year learning about Community Helpers and the services they provide. During Circle time on different dates at 10am we will community helper present for example: Redwood Smiles Dentist and Police Officer(s) from Redwood City Department visit us onsite dates to be determined. We will have a sign up, at parents desk, for parents that would like to present & talk about their career during circle time at 10am or 3pm. There will be numerous fun pretend play and activities to help children learn letters, number recognition as well as counting, adding, subitizing, colors and other social emotional skills techniques.
SHARE DAYS - WEDNESDAYS
Children can bring a non-violent toy, non-choke hazard, and non-glass/ceramic toy to share during circle time on Wednesdays only.
Place share toy in the share box upon arrival.
Share day has been a fun opportunity for children to problem solve and take turns.
LAST MONTH RECAP
Students enjoyed making their own playdough, masks, and festive cards throughout the month of December.
Children enjoyed Tucker the Turtle puppet various scenario (sharing, screaming, and unsafe etc.) shows presented by all teachers.
Students loved to dress up indoors and outdoors.
Children loved taking turns & using the ramps with hollow small colorful balls and hot wheels.
Kids were excited to play festive games like bingo and dominos.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT All teachers have continuously work with student on “Tucker Turtle Takes Time to Tuck and Think,” teachers remind students to Stop, tuck inside their shell and take 3 breaths, and come out shell when calm & think of a ‘Solution’. We can make copies of the story so you can take it home, reinforcement at home would help us at school, ask teacher for copy. Remind your child of possible solutions when there is an issue: Get a teacher, ignore-walk away, say “Please Stop”, trade a toy/item, and wait & take turns etc. Also when possible practice at home our three main rules in school: “We are Safe,” “We are Respectful,” and “We are Friendly.” Help us by implementing similar rules at home when possible.

Please help us remind your child to wash their hands when you first arrive to school.
Make sure your child has extra clothing in their cubbies and check for unclean clothing in green bags daily.
If your child visits the doctor’s office bring a doctor’s note the next day of attendance stating specifically that the child is not contagious
Electronic sign in/out system daily. If electronic system doesn’t work use paper sign in/out. Also sign off for absences on the binder (e.g. put date, sign, and reason for absence).
Please remain courteous while entering and leaving the apartment complex premises.
Last day of each month will be Pajama Day, your child can wear their comfortable/safe to play in pajama.
Dress you child accordingly given the cold, rainy, & windy weather.
On Wednesday its Share Day, if a toy is to be shared, it goes into the Share Box upon arrival & is picked up from the Share Box upon departure.
One stuffed animal is okay for rest or naptime.
Please make sure to check your child’s cubby DAILY for dirty clothes and avoid over filling your child’s cubby with their belongings; children cannot find their essentials throughout the day.
Please take naptime items home on Fridays to launder and return Monday.
Teachers continue to provide paper so parent(s)/family members can write a note every morning as words of encouragement and reminding your child how much you love them. Place the note in box by the sign in/out binder.
Scholastics book orders are due every second Tuesday of each month. By purchasing books for your child you allow our school to earn points to buy books for the classroom.
