Art Studio Camp
Campers are invited to immerse themselves in an artistic wonderland and experience art through vivid colors, textures, and textiles!
Art Studio Camp is about exploring color, line, space, shapes, sizes, and textures through the choice of material and subject while creating and manipulating color, using color to express ideas, thoughts, and images. Each week campers will explore four different types of art Drawing, Sculpture, Painting, and Textile Crafts! Campers are encouraged to use their imagination and take their ideas to completion, to learn and practice making creative choices and decisions, solve problems, experiment with materials, and to take risks!
Campers will divide by age groups and these smaller groups will rotate daily through four stations. A guest speaker artist will visit the camp to enlighten campers about their art. Interested campers will learn the art of face painting during outdoor time. Each Friday campers will host an art show displaying their wonderful creations!
Daily Rotations Include:
Sculpture-Campers will work with a variety of materials that may include clay, foam, soapstone, or paper.
Drawing-Campers will learn to draw cartoons, enhance their drawing skills, and create a comic book, while exploring other types of hand drawing.
Painting-Campers will use a variety of paints including watercolor and tempera, learn about brushstrokes, shades, tones, color mixing, experience monoprint and resist painting methods, and paint on a variety of papers and materials throughout the session.
Textile-Campers will work with a variety of fabrics and textiles that may include hand sewn deigns on burlap, weaving with yarn, knitting, fabric dying, painted windsocks, or embroidery.
